2007 Veracruz: Hyundai's answer to GM, Ford Crossovers
Hyundai has recently announced that it will be introducing a new midsize crossover called Veracruz in early 2007. The seven-passenger cross utility vehicle from Korea will be slotted in size and price above the Santa Fe. The vehicle will be Hyundai's answer to GM's Saturn Outlook and the GMC Acadia. However, the vehicle is yet to be publicly revealed.
The Veracruz is reportedly to be powered by a DOHC 3.8-liter V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission, and will come a standard third-row seat that folds into the floor. Honda says it will be larger than a Honda Pilot, with more cargo space than a Mercedes GL. Standard safety features such as side air bags, side curtains and electronic stability control are included in the vehicle.
The Veracruz will be launched at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January and will reach U.S. dealers in early 2007. Pricing will be announced before its formal introduction.
